Nancy Herrera "Honey", 61, longtime resident of Santa Cruz, NM, passed away on July 17, 2026. Nancy was born on May 3, 1965, to Willie and Jane Herrera.

Nancy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She had a big heart and would light up a room with her happy-go-lucky attitude. She loved to spend time with her family and dance to music.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Mary Jane; her father, Willie Herrera; brother, Ernie Herrera and sister-in-law, Cleo.

Nancy is survived by her lifelong partner, Donald Martinez; mother-in-law, Rebecca Martinez; mother, Jane Herrera; sisters: Geri Gallegos (Clifford), Barbara Trujillo (Gonzalo), Cecilia Valdez, Nora Trujillo (Ted), Nell Herrera (Ronnie) and Lilly Maestas (Ruben); brothers: Manuel Herrera (Berna) and Gene Herrera (Pam); aunts: Lucy Rios and Rosie Monia, best friend: Rosemary Boyett and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rosary to be held on Monday, August 3, 2026 at 6:00 at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM.

A private burial to follow at a later date.

Honorary Pallbearers: Melissa Trujillo, Sylvia Jacobson, Nycole Trujillo, Amanda Trujillo, Chantel Maestas, Katelynn Maestas and Willie Serrano.
