Nancy Chatfield

d. November 28, 2021

At almost achieving the grand age of 70, Nancy Chatfield died November 28 in Espanola, NM.  Nancy arrived on this planet with a desire for excitement and change.  She lived in many places and tried her hand at a variety of opportunities.  She sold real estate, beautiful clothing, and boutique items.  She loved to acquire and sell Southwestern items and crystals.  She had a quick sense of humor and a fabulous infectious laugh.  (Nancy wanted a good laugh every day.)  She dazzled friends with her utilization of the English language.  About her unique style and imaginative approach, Nancy would say that she had “alien DNA.”

Nancy completed High School in Port Washington, NY, and college at the State University of New York.  She loved animals and rescued a fair share of cats and kittens.  She strongly supported progressive politics because the goal was to help folks who needed a boost.

Nancy was born in NYC to Beatrice and Benjamin Fruchtman, both deceased.  Nancy is survived by her sister Ellen Jennings (Bill) of Stephentown, NY and her very good friends Penny, Isabel, and Tina all of Espanola, NM.  She is survived by one aunt and cousins all over the U.S.

Thanks to Nancy’s organizational skills and creativity, she was sought after on various boards.  While in Espanola, she was a founding member as well as President of the Espanola Community Market.  She was vice-chair for the Greater Espanola Valley Community Economic Development Corporation.  She was on the board of Moving Arts Espanola.  Nancy worked for the Northern New Mexico Regional Development Corporation, Rio Grande Sun, Highlands University, KDCE Radio, Aromaland, and the Espanola Public Library.

Now Nancy’s soul is liberated to merge with the Galaxies in the Infinite Cosmos with Infinite Love.  Her struggles are over, and she is at peace.

A Celebration of Life will be planned later.
