Nancy - Age 82 - Española - Wilson

Nancy G. Wilson\r\n82, a resident of El Guache NM passed away in the family home on Tuesday morning May 17, after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents Agustin & Dorotea Garcia, daughter Joann Garcia, husband Jack O. Wilson, brothers Pedro & Manuel Garcia, sisters, Isabel Trujillo, Sara Roybal, Eliza Martinez, Clara Valdez, Guadalupe (Pita) Gallegos, & Ruth Sanchez. Nancy is survived by her son Alfred Garcia and daughter in-law Rafaelita (Lita) Of El Guache, granddaughter Joanna and husband Robert Herrera of Los Lunas, grandson Keith Garcia of El Guache, great grand children Zack Herrera of Albuquerque and Alyssandra Garcia of El Guache, sister Elvira Salazar of Chamita, brother in law Paul Martinez of La Mesilla, special niece Carmella Martinez and long time friend Savinano Gutierrez. Nancy was born in El Guache on April 24, 1929. Nancy was a long time employee of St. Vincent’s Hospital, having worked as a phlebotomist and an EKG technician until her retirement. Nancy enjoyed her retirement years caring for grandchildren, great grandchildren and other family members. Her hobbies included gardening, landscaping and maintaining her rock garden and flowers, collecting antiques found at yard sales and flea markets. Nancy was a devout Christian, making daily time for her devotional prayers and instilling that devoutness to family members. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española. A meal for friends and family will be held following Mass at Anthony’s at the Delta in Española. Interment will take place on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 9:45 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Floyd Garcia, Howard Lopez, Eloy Dennis Sanchez, Irvin Trujillo, Manuel Garcia and Donald Salazar.
