Myra Ann Lopez

Myra Lopez, 64, a lifelong resident of Los Luceros, NM, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.  While her family and friends are saddened by her passing, we are thankful for her life. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Melva Lopez; brothers Philbert and Marty Lopez; nephew Michael Herrera; niece Priscilla Herrera and many aunts and uncles who were near and dear.

Myra is survived by Isaiah Lopez who she raised like a son; sisters Marie Renee (Randy) and Becky Lopez; nephew – Godson Philbert Lopez Jr.; niece Monica (Robert); great nephews Richard and Brian Maestas; great niece Natalya; special cousin Linda Diaz who she always made sure to have a Lota Burger for when she visited; sister-in-law Christine Lopez.

Myra was a loving sister and friend who was humorous and whom was deeply devoted to family.  She started her career at EG&G in Los Alamos and later continued onto Hoy Recovery Center where she helped many.  She loved to spend time with her Godson Philbert Lopez Jr. and loved nothing more than to have a good movie night on the couch with him.  She spent most of her days cheering on Isaiah with his art or watching her great nephew’s Richard and Brian grow up.  Myra relished in the simple pleasures of life and loved spending time with family and friends.

Even though Myra was taken too soon, she lived an extraordinary life surrounded by people who adored her and whom she adored equally.  Her vivacious and giving spirit will be missed by many.

A Rosary will be on Monday, July 3, 2023, at 10:00 am at San Juan the Baptist Church in Ohkay Owingeh, NM, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow at La Villita Cemetery in Alcalde, NM.

Pallbearers are Richard and Brian Maestas, Philbert Lopez Jr., Debbie and Charles Carrillo.
