Moselle Age - 91 Harkness

Longtime Denver resident, Moselle Harkness, 91, passed away on July 15, 2011, in Los Alamos, NM, surrounded by her extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wally, her sisters, Almeda and Marie, and her parents, Mary and Albert Green. She is survived by her brothers, Bill (wife Imogene) and Herman (wife Beth), all of Oklahoma, and her extended family in New Mexico.\r\nMoselle was born in Newport, OK on March 27, 1920. She attended college at Chilocco Indian Agricultural School in Newkirk, OK, where she received her beautician and barber’s licenses.\r\nShe met her lifelong love on a blind date in Oklahoma City in 1944. Wally proposed on their first date and they were married 4 months later. This began their 60 years together. They moved to Denver in 1945. Moselle owned her own beauty shop on Pearl St. for 45 years, after which she and Wally retired together in the 90s and traveled around the U.S.”\r\nMoselle was a strong, determined woman who loved to cook, sew, paint, read, and work in the yard. She was blessed to live in the most amazing neighborhood, surrounded by caring friends. That love and kindness helped her to live the independent life she chose to live.\r\nThe burial and service will be at Ft. Logan on Monday, August 1st, at 12:30.
