Monte Andrew Miranda

Monte Andrew Miranda, age 61, resident of Santa Cruz, NM, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 23, 2022. He was born on October 3, 1961. He was a graduate of McCurdy High School in Santa Cruz, NM and Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute.

Monte was a dedicated husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend who enjoyed pranking people and making people laugh. He was a master carpenter who found joy in music and playing the drums with a few local bands. Monte was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, skiing, and hiking.

He was preceded in death by his parents Enrique M. Miranda and Elsie Ortega Miranda, paternal grandparents Emilio and Francisca Madrid Miranda of Lincoln, maternal grandparents Melquiades and Apolonia Martinez Ortega of Chimayo, Father/Mother in-law Sabiniano and Angelina Lovato, son-in-law Rico Mendonca, brother/sisters-in-law Clara Balderrama, Elaine Lobato, Jose Ulibarri, Luis Montoya, and Louie Quintana.

He was survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Bonnie Miranda, children Desiree Miranda Mendonca and granddaughters Brianna, Jazmine, and Hayley, daughter Michelle Miranda (Stephen Winston), grandchildren Nyana, Dylan, and Leia, son Mario M. Miranda, sister Annalisa Miranda and godchildren Cassandra, Anjelica and Horacio, brothers-in-law Frank (Pancho) Lovato, Fernando Jacquez,  Emilio Lovato, and Sabiniano Lobato, sisters-in-law Maria Montoya, Connie Salazar, Rose (Miguel) Montoya, Martha (Lonisio) Vialpando, Annie (Angel) Vasquez, Delfinia Lovato, Fernanda (Tim) Lovato, Adelires (Anselmo) Jacquez and Teresina (Martin) Lovato and close cousins Armando Ortega, Matias Romero, Rodd Rodriguez, and many other  family and friends.

His family and friends will cherish the memory of his unfailing love, kindness, and generosity he impacted so many lives with his outgoing personality.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 11:00 am at Victory Faith Church in Espanola, NM, followed by burial at El Buen Pastor Presbyterian Cemetery in Chimayo. NM.
