Michelle Charlene Silva, age 57, a resident of Santo Nino passed away, after a short illness and went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 8, 2022. Born and raised in Espanola, NM, Michelle loved the simple life: camping, fishing, watching movies and spending time with her cat “Daisy” and dog “Pony Boy”. She was an employee of Center Market and loved working side by side with co-workers, meeting new people and making new friends. She was a social butterfly and busy bee at work, allowing her to flourish and grow spiritually. Michelle was adored by many and will be remembered for her tight hugs, huge smile and her laugh.
Michelle was a faithful Christian finding relief of her pain in The Word of God and his everlasting love. Growing up, she fiercely protected her little sister and big brother and continued to do so until the very end. Her daughters were the love of her life and filled her heart with pride and joy. Although her struggles and pain did not allow her to show her full potential of the love she had for them, they were always on her mind and in her heart.
She was preceded in death and greeted in heaven by her parents, Valentine and Carlota Martinez; brother Valentino “Little Val”; maternal grandparents, Manuel and Lorencita Velarde; paternal grandparents, Manuel and Ascencion Martinez.
Michelle is survived by her husband, Tommy Silva; Daughters Johnna Mendes and husband Mario of Albuquerque; Kristen Catanach and husband Tom of Santa Fe; Tamara Quintana of Santa Fe. Granddaughters Maria, Sarah and Rebecca. Sister, Yvette Atencio and husband Richard of La Mesilla, half-brother & sister: Randy Martinez of Oceanside, CA and Valerie Sanchez and husband Jerome of Alcalde and many aunts, uncles and cousins who will all miss her terribly.
