Michael "Slim" - Age 62 - Chamita - Sanchez

Michael “Slim” Sanchez, Age 62, a resident of Chamita, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2010. Michael was a fun loving person and an excellent guitarist, who with his brothers, Paul and Leo formed “The Del-Reys”. He was also a hair stylist for many years. He was well known and had many friends. He will be greatly missed along with his humorous jokes. “Slim” was preceded in death by his parents, Silviano and Jesusita Sanchez; sisters Andrita Panas, and Angie Martinez. “Slim” is survived by his sons; Marvin Sanchez and wife, Adrienne from Rio Rancho, and Lorenzo Sanchez and wife Diane from El Guique; Siblings; Arnold Sanchez Sr. and wife Eva; Toby Sanchez from Chamita; Paul Sanchez from Santa Fe; Leo Sanchez and wife Cres from Hernandez and Lawrence Sanchez and wife Mary-Lou from Austin, TX.; Susie Sanchez and companion Hank Herrera from Ohkay Owingeh; 8 grandchildren; Miguel, Mario, Analis, Mikaela, Marcos, Jeramay, Kristal & Lorenzo Jr.; great-grandsons, Anthony Martinez and Marquez Vigil. Many nephews and nieces and relatives and 1 special great nephew, Nicky. Public visitation will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at 6:00 pm at the St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh with a rosary to be recited at 7:00. Mass fo Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 10:00 am with burial to follow at San Pedro Catholic Cemetery in Chamita with serving as pallbearers, Arnold Sanchez Jr., Ramon Sanchez, Eli Garcia, Pete Trujillo, Mario Sanchez, LJ Sanchez and Freddie Trujillo.
