Mercedes Jaramillo

Mercedes Jaramillo, 64, a resident of Española was called to be with our Lord on Friday, February 3, 2017. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving husband and family. Mercedes was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was devoted to her faith and to her family. She was also a member of the Holy Cross Society of Vallecitos, N.M. Mercedes enjoyed her time helping her husband with ranch work, riding in the mountains, camping, and being around her family. Mercedes was preceded in death by her mother, Merlinda Salazar; father, Daniel Salazar; brother, Luis Daniel Salazar; brother-in-law, Richard Padilla; father-in-law, Antonio M. Jaramillo and brother-in-law, Leonard E. Jaramillo. She is survived by her husband of 37 ½ years, Anthony B. Jaramillo; children, Matthew, Daisha, Adrian and John; sisters, Fran (Alex), Christine (Oliver), Vangie (Tony), Geraldine, Monica (Bruce), Josie (Duane) and Gloria Cain; brothers, Steven (Lidia) and Eloy Martinez (Agnes); mother-in-law, Fidelia G. Jaramillo; grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Mario, Honey, Asia, Elija and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española. Burial will be at a later date.
