Melissa Griego

Melissa (Missy) J. Griego passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025. Born at Taos Holy Cross Hospital, Taos, NM, on July 4, 1975. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Orphelita Gurulé, Octavio Griego; maternal grandparents Bernabe and Manuelita Gurulé and paternal grandparents Teodoro and Evangelina Griego.

Missy is survived by her brothers Marcus, Michael (Tiffany), Santiago, Wilfred; nephews and nieces Jonah (Ally), Noah (Cecilia), Marlena (Grayson), Noriah, Gabrielle, Santiago Jr. (Jade), Cruz (Raquel).

She was a beloved sister, aunt, niece and friend. Missy was a very happy, loving, kindhearted woman and especially enjoyed fishing, spending time with her mom, family, friends, her cat Honeybee and was an amazing cook. Our family is deeply saddened at her passing and will miss her greatly. We want to thank the numerous family and friends who loved and supported Missy.

A Rosary will take place at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco, NM, (14079 Highway 75, Penasco, NM) at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, followed by a Mass at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at the Pacheco / Gurulé Cemetery.
