Maxine was born December 23, 1934 in La Villita, NM

Maxine was preceded in death by her grandparents, Epimeno and Onofre Guillen, her mother Sirila Guillen Dilorenzo and her stepfather Salvatore, her biological father Juan Archuleta, the love of her life her husband Wilfred Caracana Salazar, her two sons, Wilfred Jr and Norman, her daughter, Felicia, her grandsons, Leroy and Donald, her great granddaughters Julianna and Natalie. Her son in laws, Leroy and Mark and her godson, Philbert. Her beloved uncles and aunts, Vincent and wife Isabel, Valentine, Trinnie and husband Benny and Onofrita and husband Bernabe and all her brothers and sisters in law and many other relatives.

She is survived her daughter, Sirila, her doggy Moomoo (who really really misses her) and her grandchildren, Rachel, Angelica and her husband Danny, David, Marcos, Rhonda, Lupita, Wilfredo and his wife Lilly, Audrey and her husband Dominic, Alisha and Norman Jr. and his wife Alejandra, her 28 ½ great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Her very special great grandson Mateo and special cousins Sharon Estrada and her husband Sam. Her god children Angelica, Marcia and Carmen. Her daughter in laws, Sheila, Donna and Bernadette. Many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Maxine was a pillar of her community and was involved with the Matachines along with her husband. She worked for the Espanola Public Schools for 49 years, 4 years for the RA Senior Center, she had her own store, Maxine’s Jeans and Things, was lead singer along with her sons and her nephew in her band Magic and waitressed at Johnny’s Bar for a few years. She was also quite involved with EVCA when it started having both a girl’s and men’s team along with her husband.
