Max Martinez, 59, born on April 25, 1963, to Max and Evangeline Martinez entered into eternal rest on November 10, 2022.

Max is preceded in death by his son Max Marcos Martinez; parents, Max and Evangeline Martinez; sister, Pamela Maestas; grandparents, Max and Mercedes Martinez, Donila and Silas Gallegos; uncles, Efren Martinez and Ben Martinez; aunts Loyola Quintana and Nora Gallegos; cousins Cip Martinez Jr., James Quintana, Tim Martinez, Mark Martinez, Marcy Quintana, and Louie Sattler.

Max is survived by his wife Rebecca Martinez and her children Stephanie Martinez and husband Dominic, and Steven Maez; his daughter Donna Duda and husband Jason; grandchildren whom he loved and adored, Jordan Duda (Miranda), Jerek Duda, Jacelyn Duda, Jasmine Maez, Janai Martinez, and Jeremy Maez; sister Tammy Ulibarri and husband Ronald; nephews, Justin Ulibarri, Ronaldo Ulibarri, and Nicholas Maestas; niece, Erika Maestas; aunts, Lawra Martinez (Juan) and Alice Martinez; uncles, Cipriano Martinez (Charlotte), Robert Martinez (Marcella), Leo Quintana; cousin, April Sattler; God-children, Amos Maestas and Estevan Sanchez, as well as many other family members and friends.

Max Martinez retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory where he worked for 29 years. Max loved and cared for his family deeply, always making sure they were safe and had all they needed. If ever a problem or need arose, rest assured, he would save the day. Max was an avid hunter and enjoyed his time in the mountains. Recently Max developed a passion for woodwork; he would create the carving and his wife Rebecca would paint his creation; he was very proud of woodwork they created together. Max will be missed so very much by everyone that knew and loved him.

Public Visitation will be on Monday November 28, 2022 at 6:00 pm at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola. Rosary will follw at 6:30 pm. Memorial Mass will be on November 29, 2022 at 10:30 am at the San Juan Catholic Church in San Juan, NM.

The family of Max Martinez has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
