Matthew William Montoya

Matthew William Montoya passed away peacefully in the arms of his parents Jennifer Romero and Pete Montoya on Saturday, August 18, 2012. Matthew was born at 7:00 a.m. and went to be with the Lord shortly after.\r\nDuring his brief time with us Matthew showed amazing strength, character, and personality. Shortly after being born, he reached for the comfort of his mother’s hand, a reassurance of his love and affection. His parents and family loved and cherished every moment they were blessed to spend with him. Matthew touched many hearts during his short time, leaving a lasting impression of his love and perseverance.\r\nMatthew was preceded in death by his aunt, Estefanita D. Montoya and great-grandmother Juanita D. Jimenez. He is survived by his parents; sister, Teara Padilla; aunts: Ernestine Romero (companion Jessie) of Santa Fe, Peggy Romero (companion Mike and child Isaiah) of Las Vegas; paternal grandparents, Robert Montoya of La Puebla and Maria C. Montoya of Ranchitos; maternal grandparents, Willie and Olivia Romero of El Rancho; Godparents, Damian Garcia and Michelle Trujillo of Pojoaque; and numerous other loving relatives.\r\n Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 22 at 6:30 p.m. at Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe del Valle de Pojoaque with rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service and burial will be held on Thursday, August 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows church in Rio en Medio in Tesuque.
