Mary Madrid Age - 86 - San Pedro Montoya

Mary Madrid Montoya, 86, a resident of San Pedro, New Mexico passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013 following a lengthy illness. Mary was a well-known manager at Circle K convenience store in Española, as well as, a substitute teacher in the Española Public Schools. She was preceded in death by her husband, Atanacio A. “Fred” Montoya; grandparents: Eligio Madrid and Genoveva Atencio; parents, Jose Ignacio Madrid and Josephina Lopez. Mary is survived by her three loving sons: Michael D. Montoya and wife Judith of CA., Vincent Montoya of San Pedro, and Joseph R. Montoya of CA.; three grandchildren: John Montoya, Mary Montoya and Joanne Montoya all of CA.; brother, Joe E. Madrid and wife Auralia of Santa Cruz; sister, Ascencion (Senny) Vigil of Lawndale, CA; half-brother and sisters: Gilbert Madrid, Helen Archuleta, Mary-Louise Borrego, Connie Serrano, Susie Lopez, Terry Sanchez, and Bernie Naranjo(deceased); numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends. Mary will always be remembered for her beautiful smile. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada with burial to take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 p.m. with the following serving the family as pallbearers: John Montoya, Mario Madrid, Michael Martinez, Daniel Martinez, Henry Jon Hidalgo and Leroy Roybal; honorary pallbearers: Mary Montoya, Joanne Montoya, Anthony Martinez, Bobby Vigil and Shirley Trujillo. The family of Mary Madrid Montoya have entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
