Mary Vigil

Mary Vigil was born January 7, 1958, in Cordova, NM. She passed away on June 3, 2024, following a lengthy illness. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Saiz & Ermelinda Trujillo; her brother Oliveo Trujillo; sisters, Beverly Montoya and Dora Solis. Mary also known as Maria will be remembered for her big heart, her many friends, and for always helping others. Mary was loved by so many and will be greatly missed especially by her grandchildren who she deeply adored and loved and fought so hard just to be able to meet and watch them grow. 

Maria Vigil is survived by her sons, Matthew and Michael Vigil (Daisy Vigil); three grandsons Jordan, Michael Jr. ”Juju” and Santos Vigil, two granddaughters Harmony and Memarie Vigil, and one great granddaughter Kaylani Vigil; her longtime friend and father of her children Benny Vigil; five siblings, Polita Pacheco, Nancy (Bobby) Martinez, Corine (Salomon) Talamante, Annabelle (Paul) Gonzales, and Patty Trujillo; and many nieces and nephews. 

Public visitation will begin Monday, July 1, 2024, at 5:00 p.m at DeVargas Funeral Home, with a Rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. Mass to be held Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, NM, burial to follow at the Cordova Catholic Cemetery. 

Serving as pallbearers are: Matthew Vigil, Jordan Vigil, Silvy Talamante, Anthony Ray Baca, Eric Baca, Alex Herrera 

Honorary: Benny B. Vigil, Harmony Vigil, Memari Vigil, Michael Jr Vigil, Santos Angel Vigil and Kaylani Vigil.
