Mary Trujillo

Mary was born on December 25, 1925 in Dixon, New Mexico to Alejandro Griego and Virginia Sanchez-Griego, and passed away on May 18, 2021 in her home in Alcalde surrounded by her family as were her wishes. She married Adiopoldo “Leo” Trujillo and together they had four children.  Mary was known to many as Grandma Mary or Nina Mary and was an excellent crotchetier and an excellent cook.

Mary is survived by her children and their spouses: Rudy (Elviria) Trujillo, Vicente Trujillo, Allen/Chino (Linda) Trujillo, and Jean (Jake) Martinez, 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.  Sisters-in-law, Rose Medina, Bertha (Sef) Borrego and Nancy Trujillo; brothers-in-law, Lucas (Olivia) Trujillo and Ray Cordova.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Alejandro and Virginia Griego, her husband, (Leo), daughter-in-law, Marlyn, brother, Misel, sisters, Elsie, Ida, Lillian and Barbara, father and mother-in-law, Lucas and Adela Trujillo, brothers-in-law, Adolofo, Pete, Eppie and Jose, sisters-in-law, Emma, Manuelita and Vicentita.

Serving as pallbearers are Randy, Eric, Steven and Heather Trujillo, Jeanelle Archuleta, Jennifer Martinez, Crystal Espinoza and Lee Ann Ohmie. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Griego, Ray Cordova and all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am and the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am.  All will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church in Alcalde, NM. Internment to follow at the Alcalde Catholic Cemetery.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, up to 120 people are allowed in attendance.  Masks are mandatory and must be worn at all times.

The Family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Alcalde/Espanola Senior Center, the staff, nurses and care givers from Amber Care.  The family would also like to extend a special thanks to her care giver, Maria Gallegos. In addition their most heartfelt gratitude for friends and family for the loving outpour of visits, phone calls, food and emotional support.
