Mary Corine Pacheco, 92, passed away on April 8, 2026, in Las Cruces, NM. Born on April 3, 1934, to Evaristo and Martina Gurule in Vallecitos, NM. She was the eldest of eight siblings, raised in Vallecitos and Espanola, NM. She resided primarily in Hawthorne, CA.

Ms. Pacheco graduated from Santa Cruz High School and pursued careers as both cosmetologist and florist. Her commitment to service was reflected through her membership with LA Goal, supporting individuals with disabilities, and her volunteer work as a eucharistic minister at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hawthorne, CA.

Her interests included gardening, dancing, attending sports events, visiting casinos, and engaging with members of the film industry. Ms. Pacheco was known for her enthusiasm for life and left a meaningful impact on all who knew her.

Ms. Pacheco was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Pacheco; son Robert Pacheco; daughter Ida Pacheco; parents Evaristo and Martina Gurule; grandmothers Juanita Martinez and Rufinita Jaramillo; brothers Presciliano Gurule (Ophilia-deceased), Leo Gurule and Abel Gurule (Dolores-deceased); brother and sister-in-law Luciano and Ercilia Montoya; mother-in-law Cirila Montoya; and brother-in-law Eloy Tafoya.

She is survived by her sisters Mary S. Graham (David-deceased) of Las Cruces, NM, Mary Jane Rael (Juan-deceased) of Milan, NM, and Bernadette Salazar (Gabriel-deceased) of Espanola, NM; brother Gilbert Gurule (Anita-deceased) of Albuquerque, NM; sister-in-law Fidelia Gurule (Leo-deceased) of Espanola, NM; daughter-in-law Helen Pacheco of Santa Monica, CA. She is also fondly remembered by two aunts Rose Gurule of Utah and Anita Martinez of Espanola; her Goddaughter Mary Frances of Espanola and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins with whom she shared close relationships.

Serving as Pallbearers are Carlos Gurule, Stephen Gurule, Leon Gurule, Paul Salazar; Leonard Martinez, Clarence Atencio, Lamont Sharp III, Kristina Mendoza. Honorary Pallbearers are all her nieces and nephews.

A Public Visitation will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 5:30 pm at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, with a Rosary to follow at 6:30 pm.

Mass with be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Santa Cruz de la Canada Catholic Church in Santa Cruz, NM, at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery in El Llano, NM.
