On April 18, 2026, Maryann Archuleta, 88 of Hernandez, NM, passed away surrounded by her family. Maryann was born on January 12, 1938, in Los Ojos (Parkview), NM, to Pablo and Josefa Rivera. She was raised by her grandparents Manuel and Octaviana Sanchez of Ensenada, NM.
Maryann cherished the time she spent with her family. She loved being surrounded by them. She will be remembered for her strength, her kindness, and the deep love she had for her family. Her presence will be missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Seferino; her parents Pablo and Josefa Rivera, grandparents Manuel and Octaviana Sanchez, brothers Alfonso Rivera, Frank Valdez, Herman Sanchez and a very special aunt, Mary Archuleta, son-in-law, Bruce Romero, mother-in-law, Anita Trejo, father-in-law, Felix Archuleta, brother-in-law, Dilio Archuleta, two stepsons James C. and Allen C. Archuleta and a great grandson Joseph Martinez.
Maryann is survived by her children; Michael (Ronnie) Velasquez, Cindy Romero, Joleen (Richard) Montoya. Stepchildren Anthony G. (Rebecca) Archuleta, Valentina (George) Martinez, and Brenda E. (John) Baca.
Grandchildren Ricky (Emily) Montoya, Ericka Velasquez, Ruben (Jolavon) Romero, April (David) Trujillo, Adam (Kaylee) Romero, and Michael Velasquez. Maryann is also survived by many great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Maryann is also survived by her siblings; Paul (Betsy) Rivera, Josie Singleton, a special niece, Diane Torrez, special sister-in-law, Annabell Guerra and many other special family and friends.
Special thanks to her daughters, Cindy Romero, Joleen Montoya, Valentina Martinez, granddaughters Ericka Velasquez, Apryl Velasquez, and a special friend Donna Espinoza for the care they provided.
Special thanks to Red Willow Hospice, Dr. Molly Vossburg, Los Alamos Medical Center for her kind care and Ambercare (Stella).
Maryann will be deeply missed, loved, and always remembered.
There will be a Public Visitation on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 5:00 pm, with a Rosary to follow at 6:00 pm ad DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM.
Mass will take place on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Espanola. NM.
