Mark David Naranjo

April 29, 1956 — March 14, 2023

Mark David Naranjo, 66, beloved husband, stepfather, Papo, great-Papo, brother and friend, soared into the arms of Jesus with his loving family and angels shouldered side by side to welcome him home on March 14, 2023.  Mark is now free of his heart issues and from fighting colon cancer, a battle he chose to fight on his own terms.  Mark was a strong man with a big heart and a gentle loving spirit. Mark loved wholeheartedly and will be greatly missed…until we meet him again.

Mark was born and raised in Los Alamos and started his working career at the young age of 15 at the local Tastee Freeze. From there, he worked as credit manager at Metzgers Stores before becoming a Law Enforcement Officer with the Los Alamos Police Department. After leaving the LAPD, Mark was an Airport Dispatcher with the Zia Company. He finished his working career with 33 years of service with Wach Supply, EHS Enterprises, and Frank's Supply Company as a Contract Coordinator. He retired in 2019. Mark was a devout Catholic and was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary and Sacred Heart of Jesus parishes in Los Alamos and Espanola.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Helen Naranjo, his nephew Michael Naranjo, and many other relatives. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Dianna of 27 years; stepchildren Leah Pierce (Eric), Charlie Craig and wife Amanda,and Eve Phillips (Matt); siblings Richard and wife Kelly, Albert and wife Bernadette, Christina Reichelt and husband Steve, Laina Livingston and husband Dave. Also surviving him are his grandchildren Walker and Pearl Pierce; Silas, Timothy (Hope), Ezra, Noah, Abraham, Tobiah, David, Lydia June, MaryRose, Claire, and Charlie Craig; Hilary, Hanna, Caleb, Micah, and Jacob Phillips; and great grandson Timothy Craig; neices and nephews Matthew Naranjo (Katrina), Dianna Durkin (Danny), Deborah Englert (Matt), Jennifer Naranjo, Alyssa Noreen (Kyle), and Evan Livingston (Maggie). Great nephews Owen Durkin, and Mason Englert; and many other relatives and friends. The family would like to offer a very heartfelt thanks to Presbyterian Hospital and the Ambercare Hospice team.

A rosary and mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Espanola. Burial and reception will follow.  In leiu of flowers the family requests donations to be made in his memory to Amber Care Hospice in Espanola.
