Mark Vigil

Mark F. Vigil 64,passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 24, 2022. Mark was born and raised in Chimayo, NM on February 25, 1958 to Corpentino and Guadalupe Vigil. Mark was a wonderful athlete he played many sports such as basketball,football ect. Mark moved to Grants, NM while working for the Uranium Mines where he worked for many years. After moving back to Chimayo he worked as a Labor Contractor with many different companies. Mark loved his family! Mark loved going to support EVHS Basketball throughout the years. He also enjoyed sitting in his front yard watching traffic with his brothers  Corpy and Gerald. Mark was preceded in death by his parents Corpentino And Guadalupe Vigil, stepmother Floraida Vigil, Grandparents Fabin and Sabrina Vigil, Francisco and Eufemia Pacheco, Uncle Tiburcio Vigil, Estanislado “Tiny” Vigil. Brothers Nelson Vigil, Wally Vigil, Corpentino Corpy Vigil and Stepbrother Charlie Martinez. Nephews Antonio, Pablo, Terrance Vigil, and Jacob Sanchez. Son-in-law Michael Martinez. Mark is survived by his daughters Justine Martinez, Melanie Vigil (Kourtine) and son Lucas Vigil (Bre) . Grandchildren Nyah Lopez and Marqus Lopez. Mothers of his children are Catherine Vigil and Angela Maestas. Mother in laws Euflia Tapia and Belen Maestas. Godsons are Dominic Maestas and Morgan Jacquez. Brothers Gerald Vigil (Beatrice) Stepbrother Lee Roy Martinez (Marie). Sisters Sheila Salazar, Vivian Koteen (Ralph) Eufemia Cordova, Lupita Sanchez (Leonard) Stepsisters, Isabel Archuleta (Donald) Lucille Baca (Joe), Gloria Martinez, Sisters-in-Law Norma and Antoinette Vigil, Aunt Benie Gonzales. Close cousins whom were like sisters Vera Vigil, Joyce Pacheco, and godson Jeremy Martinez. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Mass will be held at the Holy Family Church in Chimayo, NM on the 14th of May 2022 at 10:00 AM with burial to follow in Chimayo, NM.

Honorable Pallbearers will be his godson nephews and nieces and family friend Gilbert Deaguero,Andrew Borrego and Pastor Marcos Martinez. Mark will be carried to his final resting place by his son Lucas and grandson Marqus.
