Marie Romero passed away at the age of 96, on June 15, 2026, at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Marie was born to Manuel and Matilda Borrego on May 14, 1930, in El Guique, NM.

She is preceded in death by her husband Rubio Romero, son David Toelardo, and by her father and mother, brother’s Gregorio and Juaquin Borrego, and sister’s Barbara Duran (Marcos), Leticia Mascarenas, Viola Resner (James), and Dora Houle (Frank).

Marie was a strong and beautiful woman who would do anything for her family. She loved to sew and go shopping. She was always staying busy in her house whether it was planting flowers, cleaning the yard, or cooking. She always made time for her loved ones. She will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela Romero (Orlando Cruz), Grandson, Eric Schwiner (Monica). Granddaughter, Christina Martinez (Martin), her great grandchildren, Christiana Martinez, Manuel David Martinez, Madison and Issiah Schwiner, and one great- great grandson Chance Levesque. She is also survived by a brother Jimmy Borrego (Katie), many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
