Marianita Leyba

Marianita L. Leyba, 81, a resident of El Valle, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019. Marianita was preceded in death by her parents, Bernabe and Aurelia Ortega; and her husband, Alvar (Lito) Leyba. Marianita resided in El Valle for many years but also lived in California, Washington, Utah, and Colorado throughout her life. She loved sitting on her porch listening to Spanish music and enjoying the view. She was also a familiar face at the Ancianos in Chamisal and loved to dance. Marianita is survived by her siblings, Seferino, Jose, Robert, Priscilla and Rosalita; children, Nelson, Wanda, Ray, Louie, and Pollyanna; grandchildren, Leeanne, Nelson Jr., Manuel, James, Michelle, Santana, Lonnie, Franny Lee, April, Paul, and Ashley. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of Devargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorial service and rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. A private family burial for their loved one will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019.
