Sophie was loved by everyone who met her. Her gentle spirit, kind heart, generosity, and beautiful smile made everyone near her feel loved. She cared deeply and her life revolved around those she considered family. Cooking, gardening, going shopping, and eating out at Red Lobster, Tomasita’s or Rancho de Chimayo were some of her favorite things to do. She also enjoyed short road trips on the weekends, hanging out with family for bbq’s, birthdays, relaxing at Abiquiu lake, and most of all spoiling her dog Sir Bentley. Sophie was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

We would like to extend our thanks to all the relatives, neighbors, and friends who called and checked on her and the family. Special thanks to her granddaughter Alicia who was with her daily, Ambercare, the nurses and doctors who all gave her special delicate care during this time.

Due to COVID restrictions and keeping everyone safe, no public service will be held.  A memorial service to celebrate her beautiful life will be held in the future when we can gather safely and enjoy each other’s company.

The family of Sophie Manzanares has entrusted the care of their beloved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley. 505-747-7477
