Maria Selina "Sally" Romero

Maria Selina (Sally) Romero, of Arroyo Seco, New Mexico passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her close loving family on July 4, 2024, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Nambe, New Mexico on August 15th. She is preceded in death by her parents Agapito Herrera and Adelia Herrera Porter, very special grand-daughter April Espinoza, stepson Narciso Romero, brothers Albert, Richard, Conrad Herrera and Harold Porter. Brother-in-law James Porter, Sisters-in-law Maryann and Carmen Herrera.

Sally is survived by her husband of 50 years Gilbert. Her loving daughters Theresa (Jimmy) Martinez and Dianne Chavez. Her very special grand-daughters Melissa (Randy) Sandoval and Cristal (Vince) Valdez, grandsons James (Consuelo)Martinez, David Chavez, Joshua (Hannah) Martinez. Great grandchildren Kayla Martinez, Marissa Sandoval, Aleah Garcia (Justin), Alyssia and Vanessa Sandoval, Diego Chavez, Faith Valdez, Julia Martinez, Adrian Chavez, Lincoln, Hailey and Liam Martinez, great great -grandson, Jacob Garcia. Her brothers Frutoso and Larry (Diane) Herrera; sisters Virginia Porter, Rae (Marcial) Lujan, Irene (Ernie) Trujillo and Debra (Richard) Romero. Sisters-in-law; Elsie Herrera and Georgia Porter. Her step children Greg and Stephanie Romero. 

Sally enjoyed spending time with her family at her home and making sure they felt at home. She loved hosting Thanksgiving lunch, making the most delicious meal, especially her red and green chile. She enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada and Colorado with her husband. She also liked camping and boating with her family. Sally loved the time she worked at Center Market where she worked for 45 years. She loved the company of her pets, Missy, Taco, Sabby and Spotty. Sally loved watching her Western movies and knew every word by heart. 

We would like to give a special thanks to Virginia Sanchez, Carmen Lujan and Mariah Pizzano from Ambercare for taking such great care of Sally in the time of her illness. 

 Funeral Services will be held at the Rock Christian Fellowship on Friday July 12, 2024, at 12:00 pm.
