Maria Duran

MARIA ROSALITA DURAN , our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2019 with her loving family by her side. Maria Rosalita was born in Taos, on April 11, 1949 to parents William Voigt and Elizaria Coca.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Erminio Duran; son, Leo Duran; grandparents, Juan and Manuelita Medina; parents, William Voigt and Elizaria Coca; brothers, Hilario Voigt, and Julian Coca; nephews, Floyd Grant, Jr. and Aaron Coca; aunts, Cordelia Torres, Ursela Chavez, and Beatrice Gonzales and in-laws, Demetrio and Eloisa Duran.  Maria Rosalita was known for her kindness, sense of humor, her love for the outdoors was enjoyed through fishing, camping, gardening and going for wood.  But most of all for the unconditional love she had for her family. She will be profoundly missed by the ones who had the honor of really knowing and loving her. Maria Rosalita is survived by her children, Juan Duran of Peñasco, Aurora Duran-Tsosie (Robert Dale) of Ribera, Erminio Duran, Jr. of Las Vegas, Rumalda Duran-Sale (Salei) of Peñasco, and Elee Duran of Peñasco; uncle, Joe Medina of Taos; sisters, Ida Silva of Taos, Irene Ledoux (Ernest) of Denver, Corine Grant (Floyd) of Taos, Della Coca (Joey) of Taos; brothers, Guillermo Voigt of Taos, Federico Voigt of Taos, and Jose Coca of Taos; grandchildren, Johnny Duran, Jaelynn Duran, Mackayla Duran, Reyes Tsosie, Briona Duran, Adelena Tsosie, Ivanna Tsosie, Rosalita Sale, and Gabriella Sale; great-granddaughter, Isaiah; several nieces, nephews, cousins; step-sisters, Lucille, Marcella, Irene and many other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco. Burial to follow at the Chamisal Cemetery. The family of Maria Rosalita Duran has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
