Margaret Age - 82 Chama Johnson

Margaret Johnson, 82, a lifelong Chama Valley resident passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 in Santa Fe after a lengthy illness. Margaret was born in El Vado to Sabino & Gertrudis Johnson on September 8, 1928. She had many, many friends. She enjoyed talking on the phone and visiting with everyone. She had firey red hair and the personality to match. Her favorite past-time was riding around the Chama area. When she was younger she loved to garden, do carpentry work around the house, and visit her family. Margaret was a wonderful babysitter and mother to many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sabino and Gertrudis Johnson; brother, Juan Johnson; daughter, Noel Espinoza. Margaret is survived by her children: Augustine Espinoza, Floyd Espinoza, Noel McCann, Margaret Diana Lee Johnson; grandchildren: Carlos Rey Atencio, Daisy Young, Rachel Corley, Melody Baltwin, Floyd Jr. and Stanley Espinoza, Laura Gonzales, Amanda, Christopher, Justin, Michael, Shane and Savanah Espinoza, Joyful Lopez, Adam Martinez and Robert T. Owens; several great-grandchildren; many other loving family and friends. Public visitation will be held on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church in Los Ojos with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church in Los Ojos with burial to follow at the Los Ojos Cemetery. The family of Margaret Johnson has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
