Marcos - Age 67 - Santa Fe Sanchez Sr.

MARCOS ORLANDO SANCHEZ, SR., 67 , a resident of Santa Fe, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Marcos was born February 1, 1944 to Amadeo and Feliz Sanchez in Santa Fe, the youngest of 10 children. At the age of 19 Marcos enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country. Marcos started his career as a truck driver at the same time he started his family when he met and married Nellie Madrid and they had 2 sons; Amadeo and Marcos O. Sanchez Jr. Marcos was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting so much he went hunting the day after he and Nellie were married and they enjoyed hunting together. All his friends had great hunting stories to tell. Marcos was preceded in death by his parents; Amadeo and Feliz Sanchez; his first wife, Nellie, and other relatives. Mr. Sanchez is survived by his sons, Amadeo Sanchez and wife Lourdes and Marcos Sanchez and wife Yvonne; grandchildren, Abad, Marcos, Genevieve, Samantha and Little Orlando; great-grandson, Santiago; sister, Christina Duran and husband Leonard; brother, Eusebio Sanchez and many other relatives and friends. Memorial service will be held on Monday, June 6, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Santa Fe. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
