Manuel "Manuelito" S. Age - 67 Chim Martinez

Manuel “Manuelito” S. Martinez, 67, a resident of Chimayo passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, May 17, 2011. Manuel was a life-time mechanic who was self employed. He had an awesome sense of humor & loved to tease. It wasn’t uncommon to find Manuel cruising in his favorite truck. He enjoyed the outdoors & loved hunting. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, Rosenaldo and Erminia Martinez; sister, Cisnel Lopez; brothers: Reuben Martinez and Anthony Garcia; uncles, Trivino, Feliberto and Ursulo Martinez; step-father, Felix Garcia. Mr. Martinez is survived by his sisters: Angela Griego and husband Waldo of La Madera, Annabelle Noga and husband Robert of Taos and Linda Vigil and husband Ruben of Española; brothers: Gilbert Garcia of Santa Cruz, Rudy Garcia of Española, Ernesto Garcia and wife Carol of Ojo Caliente, Fabian Garcia of El Llano; nieces, Brenda Canales-Avila and husband Juan of Chimayo, Leslie Guevara and husband David of Chula Vista, CA; Special nephews: Thomas Martinez and wife Holly of Shadow Mountain, Brian Lopez and girlfriend Angela of Alcalde; raised like brothers, Marshall and Dennis Martinez both of Chimayo; numerous other loving relatives & friends. Rosary will be recited on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with burial to follow at Nuestra Señora de Dolores Catholic Cemetery in Chimayo.
