Magdalena (Maggie) Trujillo, 78, a lifelong resident of Santo Niño passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 9, 2023, after battling cancer.
She was born to Moises and Magdalena Lujan. Maggie graduated from Santa Cruz High School. She had a successful career with the New Mexico State Police, Narcotics Division. After retirement, she remained devoted to her faith and volunteered at the Sacred Heart Adoration Chapel. She was an avid bowler for many years and enjoyed fishing with her family. Maggie had a wonderful sense of humor and her laughter was contagious. She looked forward to her daily visits with her sister Margaret and enjoyed the company of her pets. She was very proud of her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-children. Maggie was a loving beautiful person inside and out and will be dearly missed.
Maggie is preceded in death by her parents Moises and Magdalena Lujan; sister Corrine Maestas and brother Moises Lujan Jr.; brothers-in-law Levi Martinez and Freddie Maestas; niece Eloise Chavez and nephew Joe Maestas.
She is survived by her children Genaro and Gina Trujillo; sisters Livina Roybal, Margaret Martinez, and Janice Maestas; grandchildren Isaac, Nikki and Jonathon Trujillo, Joey Montoya and Tiffany Trujillo; great-grandchildren Jacob Montoya, Ayslinn and Logan DeVargas; and her loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., at Holy Cross Church: Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada in Santa Cruz, NM.
