Maclovio “Max” Maestas 90, a resident of El Guache, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022, following a lengthy illness.
Maclovio was preceded in death by his parents Pedro and Maria Ruben Maestas. Siblings; Leo Maestas, Jose Maestas, Josie Sisneros and, Liz Harrison. Children; Lenny and Danny Maestas, 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and his In-Laws Miguel and Eloisa Valdez.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Linda V Maestas. Children; Pam (Silviano) Tucker of Dixon, Alex (Cathy) Maestas of Rio Chama, Margaret (Ray) Gallegos of Rio Chama, and Chris (Lola) Maestas of El Guache. Twenty-one grandchildren: Ashley, Valerie, Shana, Anthony, Thomas, Shannon, Kayla, Nick, Lynette, Desirae, Victoria, Mateo, Rayna, Nicki, DJ, Delayna, Tiffany, Sherri, CJ, Jeremiah, and Josh. Twenty-three great-grandchildren: Aria, Kalise, Baby Johnson, K’lynne, K’ly, Krew, Dionicka, Anthony-Shawn, Catherine, James, Brielle, Baby Maestas, Korbyn, Baby Romero, Penelope, Adalee, Azrael, Cameron, Hailey, Aiden, Nevena, Genesis, andJericho. Two brothers: Joe C. (Jannea) Maestas of Vernal, UT, and Lee (Sandra) Maestas of St. George, UT, and sister in-law Sophie Maestas of East Carbon, UT. He is also survived by his in-laws; Loyola (Delfino) Vigil, LouAnna (Toby) Trujillo, Rudy (Pam) Valdez, Wilfred Valdez, Sandra (Arthur) Pacheco, Barbara (Virgil) Vigil, Johnny (Mannie) Valdez, Earl (Kathy) Valdez, Alvin (Norma) Valdez, Mike (Linda) Garcia, Otilio (Chenky) Garcia and Mercy Dominguez. As well as numerous nephews, nieces, godchildren, and other loving relatives and friends.
Maclovio Maestas served in the US Army as a CPL in the Korean War.
Public Visitation will begin on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 6:00pm in the Sangre De Cristo chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home, with a Wake to follow at 7:00pm. Rosary will be recited on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 11:30am at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez with Memorial Mass to follow at 12:00pm. Burial will be held at the San Jose Catholic cemetery in Hernandez.
Serving as pallbearers are Ashley Johnson and Nicki Gallegos. Honorary pallbearers are all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The Maestas family would like to thank the staff from Giving Home Health and Ambercare for the great care they gave to our dad. We’d also like to thank his grandchildren, especially his grandson CJ, for spending many nights caring for their grandpa.
