Lydia M. Salazar, age 79, a resident of Espanola, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Lydia was preceded in death by her husband, Armando J. Salazar; daughter, Kitty Dominguez; step-son, Jose Salazar; parents, Juan Andres and Cipricia Griego; siblings, Leroy Anthony Griego, Virginia M. “Ginny” Griego and Michael L. “Havaline” Griego; Godson, John John Martinez; nephew, Jimmy Ortiz Jr.; aunts and uncles, Nick and wife Ermelina Gonzales, Manuel and Elenor Griego, Ernesto and Lugarda Griego, Celetino and Margaret Griego, Alice and Eliseo Griego, Samuel Griego and Lorraine Hernandez; compadres, Ray and Viola Martinez, Rosalie Baca and husband who is surviving Joe Baca; and in-laws, Esqipula and Ciria Salazar. Lydia is survived by her children, Paul Padilla, Bernadette L. Salazar and fiancé Tommy Archuleta, Beverly Gomez and husband Gerald; grandson she raised, Justin Salazar-Torrez and wife Deserae; grandchildren, Derek Archuleta and Marisa, Giovanni and D'Angelo Gomez, Annabelle Almager, Stacey Marmolejo and Bino Flores, Celina Domingez, Ismael Vasquez Jr., Candi Marmolejo, Kory Almager and Erika Cordova and husband Eric; great-grandchildren, Ella Archuleta, Aryah and Xavier Torrez, Marissa Abeyta, Noel and Sophia Diaz, and Elijah De La Torre; step-grandkids, Darren and Ruby Salazar; siblings, Diana Griego and husband Estevan, Robert “Bobby” Griego, comadre she considered a sister, Vangie Gonzales and husband Richard (Deceased), Rose Martinez and husband Henry Martinez and Doña Maria Romero; God-children, Gabriel Gonzales, Susie Trujillo and Melissa Sanchez; nieces and nephews, Tina Griego, Steven Griego and Robert Maestas; aunt, Lorriane Minnie Chavez; her pets, Duke and Kiko, as well as numerous other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 5:30p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home, with a devotional to follow at 6:00p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 10:00a.m. at the Apostolic Praise Temple in Dixon, burial will follow at the Apostolic Praise Temple Cemetery in Dixon.
