Lupe Quintana was born on December 11, 1945, to Jose R. and Benita Martinez of Chimayo, NM. She was a life-long resident thereof. Lupe passed away unexpectedly on May 9, 2026, with her loving daughter at her side.
Lupe was preceded in death by her husband Steve F. Quintana; sons Steve F. Quintana Jr. and Billy Quintana from Chimayo; parents, Jose R. and Benita Martinez from Chimayo. Sister Mary Medina from Las Vegas, NV. In-laws, Alfares and Juanita Quintana from Penasco, NM, and several other in-laws.
Lupe’s real hope was in the promised resurrection, when she will once again be reunited with her loved ones, as promised in God’s Word. (Acts 24:15)
Lupe is survived by her daughter Mai Quintana and only grandson, Casey Quintana from Chimayo. Brothers, Jose C. Martinez and Ted (Erma) Martinez from Chimayo. Four sisters, Connie (Paul) Chavez from Arroyo Seco, Concha (Borge) Jenson from Pagosa Springs Co, Sylvia (Ron) Suazo from Santa Clara, and Angie (Richard) Garcia from Chimayo. Sisters-in-Law, Frances Sandoval from Phoenix, Az, Sharon (Luis) Pacheco and Ivy (Mario) Romero from Las Vegas NM. She is also survived by other in-laws and numerous nieces & nephews.
Lupe was a seamstress for Ortegas Weaving Shop for several years and continued to help others with their smaller tailorings. She enjoyed the beauty of creation. Her pets, flowers, and chirping birds every morning really brought joy to her days. Coloring was one of her favorite pastime activities. Lupe definitely loved her Quequitos! She loved peering into God’s word daily and helping others learn about the hope for mankind. She dedicated her life and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Sept 13, 2014. She remained faithful as a servant of Jehovah until her death. She will be remembered and missed for her gentle kindness, generosity, and loving concern for others.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 18625 US-84/285 Espanola, NM 87532.
