Lucille Marie Maes, age 68, of Bernalillo, NM, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 19, 2026.

Lucille was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tommy Maes; her mother, Antonia Griego; her brother, Carlos Griego; her nephew, Ricky Dominguez; and her father and Mother-in-law, Juanito and Celestina Maes.

She is survived by her four children, Juan Maes (Rebecca), Thomas Maes (Paulette), Ana Chavez (Andrew), and Angelique Lucero (Adrian); her ten cherished grandchildren, Diego, Shawn (Sabrina), Cheyenne (Jacob), Michael (Ariana), Marcus, Ryan (Maleah), Anyka, Adrian, Amberly (Luciano), and Abrielle; and her treasured great-granddaughter, Madison.

Lucille is also survived by her father, Bert Griego; her sister, Berta Dominguez (Rick); and her brothers, Joe (Angela), Steve, Vince, and Bobby (Liz). She also held the Maes family especially close to her heart, loving them as her own brothers and sisters. Their bond was filled with deep love, lifelong friendship, and countless cherished memories that remained dear to her throughout her life.

Lucille will be remembered for her love of family, her strength, and the warmth and kindness she shared with everyone. Her memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A Rosary will take place at DeVargas Funeral Home  in Espanola, NM, on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 6:00 pm. 

A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the Canjilon Catholic Church at 10:00 am, with Mass to follow at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at the Canjilon Catholic Cemetery.
