Loyola M. Vigil

Loyola M. Vigil, 82, of El Guache/Guachupangue, NM, passed away peacefully in her home on March 14, 2024. 

Loyola was preceded in death by her parents, Miguel and Eloisa Valdez; son Terry Vigil; sister Mabel Garcia and brother Mike Garcia. 

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Delfino Vigil and children Gary (Ruby), Cindy Martinez, Ron (Deedee), and Darrell (Pam); grandchildren Beverly, Krystal, Gary David, Amanda (Manny), Melanie (John), TJ (Ian), Terry (Janelle), Ronald (Lexi), Heather (Jason), Tamara, Jessica, Darrell, Marcos and 18 great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters Erlinda (Maclovio) Maestas, Louanna (Toby) Trujillo, Wilfred Valdez, Rudy (Pam) Valdez, Kay (Arthur) Pacheco, Earl (Kathy) Valdez, Barbara (Virgil) Vigil, Johnny (Manny) Valdez, Alvin (Norma) Valdez, Otilio (Chenky) Garcia, Mercy (Juan) Dominguez and Linda Garcia. 

Loyola (a.k.a Aunt Loggie, Grandma Bingo, Bucky) was born on June 5, 1941 in El Guache, NM. She was a Madrina to many, extending her love and guidance. Loyola had a deep passion for camping and music, often lighting up gatherings with her love for singing and dancing. She was always the life of the party and enjoyed the annual Valdez/Moya family reunions. Loyola’s dedication as a mother was unwavering; her children and grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Her presence touched the hearts of all who knew her and her vibrant spirit will be deeply missed. 

Public Visitation will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 5:30 pm at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM, with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 12:00 pm at the Sacred Heart Church in Espanola, NM.

Pallbearers TJ Martinez, Terry Martinez, Gary David Vigil, Darrell Vigil, Ronald Vigil, and Marcos Vigil. Honorary Pallbearers are Beverly Vigil, Krystal Mucha, Amanda Vigil, Melanie Arguello, Tamara Olivas, Jessica Vigil and Heather Vigil.
