Ida Louise Oesterreicher
September 19, 1948 – September 19, 2025
Ida Louise Oesterreicher, 77, of Espanola, New Mexico, passed away on September 19, 2025. Louise’s life was a testament to the Methodist belief in grace and love and she was a faithful member of the Valley View United Methodist Church where she was the lead soprano in the choir.
Born and raised in Albuquerque, Louise graduated from Valley High School. She attended college in Alamosa, Colorado. There she was a member of a choir that traveled to and performed in Europe. Later, as a resident of Espanola, Louise shared her talent by singing the national anthem at New Mexico College graduations, Nurse Pinnings and GED graduations.
Louise will be remembered as a devoted church member, friend, and cousin. She was a loving and compassionate person with a wonderful sense of humor. She took joy in caring for her animals and she loved her home in Northern New Mexico.
Louise was preceded in death by her mother, Isabel (Elizondo) Oesterreicher, her father Frederich Oesterreicher, and her brother Fred Oesterreicher.
She is survived by cousins on the Elizondo side of the family.
The Elizondo family would like to thank the members of her church, her friends, her neighbors and her community for the care and attention they gave to her in her final days.
A memorial service is pending.
The family of Ida Oesterreicher has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the beautiful Espanola Valley. 505-747-7477
