Lorie L. Herrera, 56, a lifelong resident of Hernandez, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Matilda and Efren Garcia, her paternal grandparents Avelino and Vivianita Herrera and the father of her children Samuel Herrera. She retired from the State of New Mexico after 25 years and continued working as a dispatcher for Jemez Electric and as a waitress at her mother’s restaurant. She is survived by her children, Samuel Herrera of Espanola and Juliann Herrera of Albuquerque; her parents Lorenzo and Socorro Herrera, her brothers Michael Herrera and wife Eva, Ivan Herrera, Mario Herrera and wife Bernadette, all of Hernandez; nephew Jeremy (Stephanie) Herrera of San Pedro, goddaughter and niece Amy Herrera (Walter Martinez) of Chimayo, nephew Mario (Kayla) Herrera of Lyden, niece Angel (Kim) Herrera of Hernandez and great nieces Haley, Alyssa, Hannah, Leah, Bella and Ava; Godmother Mela Garcia; special friends Richard Martinez and Ramona Herrera. Public visitation will began on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church, with a burial to follow at San Jose Catholic Cemetery. Serving the family as honorary pallbearers are, Michael Roark, Kenny Maestas, Joseph Garcia, Bobby Sanchez, Warner Clow, Edward Romero and special cousin Virgil Valdez. The family of Lorie L.
