Loren Salazar, 57, a life-long resident of Hernandez, NM, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Loren grew up in Espanola, NM where he played basketball & softball. He loved to go fishing, hunting & camping. He enjoyed the outdoors & loved working at his ranch where he felt at peace.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years & the mother of his boys, Connie Salazar; his parents, Paul & Delores Salazar; brothers, Paul Jr. & Lucas Salazar; aunts & uncles Pete Trujillo, Dora (Eulalio) Griego, Rose (John) Munoz. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his sons, Joseph, Arren & Adrien Salazar; grandson, Devin Salazar; sister Sandra & Gerald Naranjo, niece, Erica Salazar (Richard) & great-nephew Azaziah Salazar & niece, Danielle Naranjo; Michele Maestas (Machete), nieces Jessica Medina & Gabriella Salazar, great nephew, Paul & great niece, Antonia Dominguez & Aubriella Archuleta; nephew, Jerrid Maestas, great nieces, Arriana Maestas & Jade Maestas, great nephews, Jerrid Maestas Jr. & Zayden Chavez. Uncles Celso & Socorro Salazar. Special friends Leonard & Veronica. Brother-in-law Leroy (Lori) Gonzales, Dayna Gonzales, Mikey Sanchez, Gabriel, Eli, Jesse (Janna) Gonzales; Brother-in-law, Bobby (Sylvia) Gonzales, Kevin & Ryan Gonzales; brother-in-law, Ernie (Debbie) Gonzales, Crystal (Vince), Ryen, Alyssa, Josh, Branden, Jennifer (Anthony) Cade & Cole Trujillo, Stephanie Gonzales, Evan & Luke Vigil. A rosary will be recited on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 11:00 am followed by a mass and burial at noon at San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez, NM. Reception following burial at Sacred Heart Parish Hall in Espanola, NM.
