Linda Vigil-Grimes, 67, died after a long medical battle. Linda was born on June 11, 1957, in Española, New Mexico, to Leo and Frances Vigil. She was the fourth of five children.
Linda led an amazing and full life. When younger, she loved working in her farm and orchard, spending time tending to the fruit trees she and her beloved husband Art had planted. She loved to travel as well, her favorite places were always those that provided a natural beauty in the way of canyons and landscape. Linda loved life, she loved music and relished going out with her companion Dennis Joseph to concerts, baseball games and casinos - as much as her physical ailments would allow. She loved family functions, spending the holidays or going on trips with her immediate family. Linda was known for her strong will, steadfast determination, and love and support for her family and friends. Linda was a truly independent Spirit.
She is survived by her loving companion, Dennis Joseph of Medanales and his grandkids Kaylie & Noah Joseph of Ojo Caliente; brother Joseph G. Vigil and wife Roberta Vigil (who Linda considered to be a true sister) of Chilí. She is further survived by other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her beloved husband, Art Grimes, she was preceded in death by three siblings Anthony Vigil, Edward Vigil, and Jeanette Leyba. Also preceding Linda were her parents Leo and Frances Vigil of Chilí.
A private viewing and service will be held in honor of Linda.
Linda’s family would like to thank Vaneza Lee, the nurse whose gentle care of Linda during her last few months cannot be thanked for enough.
