Lillian I. Sanchez

Lillian I. Sanchez, 67, a resident of Espanola, NM, was called home to be with our Lord on May 29, 2023.

She was born in Mora, NM, to her parents Jose Margarito and Alice Maria Sanchez.  She was raised in Peñasco, NM.

Lillian is preceded in death by her husband Reynaldo Martinez; parents Jose Margarito and Alice Maria Sanchez; brothers Rudy Sanchez, Gerald Sanchez, Fred Sanchez; sister Mary Trujillo (Prome) and granddaughter Racquel Marquez.

Lillian is best known for her freshly brewed coffee while enjoying the sunrise and the view of her sweet hummingbirds while admiring the beauty of her rose bush and apple tree.  She enjoyed making her diamond kits, playing candy crush on her tablet and sneaking away to the casino where she loved to meet other people. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as the unexpected visits from family and her beloved best friend Gayle Sahs.

Lillian is survived by her children Nicholas Marquez and wife Angela, Margaret Marquez and partner Martin Lopez, Bobby Sanchez and partner Richard Martinez; brothers Manuel (Dorothy) Sanchez, Albert (Elenor) Sanchez, Michael Sanchez, Larry (Joyce) Sandoval, Tony Sanchez and Dennis Trujillo; sisters Annette (Leroy) Sanchez,  Geneva (late husband Tracy) Williams, Jerlin Sanchez, Lori (Antonio) Gonzales and Yolanda Swissto; grandchildren Desiree Baca (Adam), Paola Morales, Kandice Marquez, Donovan Baca, Denisha Morales, Josh Martinez, Shantell Marquez, Jerome Pineda and Maria Sanchez; family friends Janel Garcia and Lilly Garcia; great-grandchildren Reyes Chavez, Arielle Baca and Ignacio Guzman.

A Rosary will take place on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 9:00 am at Nuestra  Senora de Guadalupe de Valle de Pojoaque, NM, Mass of Christian Burial to follow.  Burial will be at the Nuestra Senora del Carmel Cemetery in Chimayo, NM, immediately after mass.
