Lila (Herrera) Roque\r\nDecember 26, 1921 to August 12, 2011\r\nResident of Livermore, Lila passed away peacefully Friday morning. Lila was a beloved wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great-grandma.\r\nShe was pre deceased by husbands Mike Rodriguez and Dan Roque, son Joseph Rodriguez, granddaughter Jessy Malmin, grandson Patrick Patterson, sisters Christina Chavez, and Rita Serna.\r\nShe is survived by children Patricia Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez (Rose), Henry Rodriguez (Chick), and Donna Malmin (Karl), grandchildren Felicia, Tevona, Kelly, Sierra, Jose, Richard, Tony, Amanda, Karla, April, and Matthew, 10 great-grand children, and 4 great-great grand children. Lila is survived by her sisters Tillie, Ruby, Lucy, and her brother Tony as well as many nieces and nephews.\r\nLila was the oldest of 7 children born in El Guache, New Mexico, to Patrocinia Lobato Herrera and Benjamin Herrera. She lived most of her life in Oakland before recently moving to Livermore. She cherished her family, loved fishing, traveling, driving, and was an avid Oakland Athletics fan. She always had an open heart and an open door.\r\nLila was a retired teamster after 30 years with Del Monte. She had touched so many lives with her great stories, acts of kindness, and unconditional love. Mom will be dearly missed by all who knew her.\r\nFriends and family are invited to join us in celebrating Lila's life on Tuesday, August 16th, from 4:00 pm - 8:30 pm ,with a viewing and rosary at Holy Angels Funeral Cremation Center, 1051 Harder Road, Hayward ;and funeral service Wednesday August 17th at 11:00 am also at Holy Angels. 510-537-6600.\r\nThe family would like to thank Lila's assisted living home Rosewood Gardens for always being a loving family to her, and Vitas Hospice for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time.
