Leroy Trujillo, Sr.

LEROY R. TRUJILLO, SR., 73, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Florentino Trujillo and Virginia Padilla; stepmother, Veronica Trujillo; in-laws, Johnny B. and Adelina Trujillo; brothers-in-law, Genaro, Robert and Leo Trujillo and sister-in-law, Bertha Sandoval. Leroy retired from the Brick Layers Allied and Craftsman Union. He enjoyed restoring old cars and enjoyed spending time at the casino. He left a legacy with his masonry work. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Trujillo is survived by his wife or 54 years, Lillian Trujillo of Chimayo; sons, Duane Trujillo and wife Judith of Los Luceros, Fabian Trujillo of Chimayo and Leroy Trujillo, Jr. and wife Angela of Española; daughter, Nadine Bustos and husband Anthony of Ranchitos; grandchildren, Kenneth Trujillo, Vanessa Smith (Fabian), Leon Trujillo, Nina Vigil and Daylon Garcia, Taylor Trujillo, Ava Valdez, Alexis Trujillo, Cherice Gonzales, Lucas Bustos (Caitlin) and Anthony Bustos, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Evan Trujillo and Emma Jade Smith; brothers and sisters, Dion Trujillo, David Trujillo and wife Connie, Susie Trujillo, Yolanda Trujillo and husband Eliseo and Diana Trujillo; brothers-in-law, Merlin Trujillo and wife Lita, Bedelio Trujillo and wife Sylvia and Zebedeo Sandoval; sisters-in-law, Louise Vigil and husband Tony, Lucille Romero, Maria Romero and husband Joe; uncle, Tito Padilla; Godsons, Billy Vigil and Lee Trujillo; Goddaughter, Ivy Martinez and many nieces, nephews and countless amounts of friends. A rosary will be recited on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with a Mass of Christian burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora de Carmen Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving as pallbearers, Kenneth, Leon and Evan Trujillo, Lucas Bustos, Anthony Bustos, Jr. and Fabian Smith.
