Leroy “Juan” Fresquez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Leroy “Juan” Fresquez on August 1, 2025.

Leroy was born and raised in Chimayo NM. He was well known for his outgoing personality, and loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

Leroy was a hardworking man, he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had many talents and skills. Continuously working on his motorcycle and cars. His love for the 1958 Chevy Impala was his absolute favorite. His most recent endeavor was to find and restore another 1958 Impala like the one he once had; it was his dream car. He took great care and pride in his pets, his dogs - Baby, Chico, Bandit - and Felix the cat.

He was preceded in death by his son Nicholas “Nico” Fresquez and wife Joyce Fresquez, parents Jimmy & Elena Fresquez, stepfather Joe Galvan, and brothers, Jamo, Michael, and Joe Fresquez. 

He is survived by his son Leroy Fresquez Jr., grandson Ian, grand-daughter Hailey, sisters Evelyn Vigil (Ramon), Lucy Rodriguez, Sharon Galvan (Dion), Martha Armijo (Steve), as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Rosary will take place on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 6:00p.m. at DeVargas Funeral Home and a Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church at 10:00a.m. Burial will follow at the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. 

Serving as Pallbearers are Jerome Vigil, Travis Rodriguez, Estevan Moya, Benito Montoya, Jeremiah Vaughn and Aidan JoJo Ortiz.
