Leopoldo B Salazar (Leo), 60, a resident of Hernandez, NM, passed away peacefully on Sunday August 2, 2026.

Leopoldo was born on October 2, 1965, to Paul E. Salazar and Donelia Lujan-Griego.

Leopoldo loved to spend time with family and friends and going for wood, he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Leopoldo was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Gloria Victoria Salazar; father Paul E. Salazar; mother Donelia Lujan-Griego; stepfather Tony Griego; brother Eppie Griego; brother-in-law Alvaro Garcia; paternal grandparents Juan Salazar and Juanita Espinosa-Garcia; maternal grandparents Leopoldo Lujan and Feliz Lujan.

Leopoldo is survived by his daughters Kayla Lopez (Colorado), Esperanza Terrazas and husband Santiago (El Rito) and grandchildren Angel’leo and Augustin Anguiano (Colorado), Elyanah and Andres Terrazas (El Rito), and one on the way; and sisters Martha Garcia and Eileen Griego both of Hernandez; very special and close Uncle Alfonso Lujan and close Aunt Flora Chavez, nephew Henry Trujillo and wife Tiffany; nieces Denise Barela and Kyra Griego. and many other great-nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family of Leopoldo would also like to send a special thank you to Nurse Anna who took very good and special care of him until the end.

Serving the family as Pallbearers are Henry Trujillo, Santiago Terrazas, Denise Barela, Tina Chavez, Eddie Lovato, Celestino Trujillo, and Joey Maestas. 

Honorary Pallbearers are Kayla Lopez, Esperanza Terrazas, all his grandchildren, Martha Garcia, Eileen Griego, Alfonso Lujan and Kyra Griego.
