Leonardita - Age 89 - Chimayo - Baca

LEONARDITA BACA, 89, a lifelong resident of Chimayo, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 21, 2011 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claudio Baca; sister, Genova Martinez; brother, Trendia Ortega; half-sister, Onofre Lopez; half brother, Atanacio Ortega; parents, Fele and Socorro Ortega; great-granddaughter, Anjelika Baca; grandson-in-law, Levi Baca. Mrs. Baca is survived by her sons, Cornelio Baca and wife Lydia, Joe P. Baca and wife Rosalie, Gilbert Baca and wife Ruby and Orlando Baca and wife Evelyn; grandchildren, Glen Baca, Dickie Baca and wife Crystal, Annette Baca, Joanna Salazar, Rubel Baca and wife Carla, David Trujillo and wife Theresa, Sorida DeAguero and husband Tony, Brenda DeVargas and husband Johnny, Jessie Trujillo, Orlando Baca Jr. and Adam Baca; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and many God-children and other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 7:45 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora de Dolores Catholic Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving as pallbearers, Louie Baca, Anthony Vigil, Angelo Baca, Dickie Baca, Jessie Trujillo and Adam Baca. Honorary pallbearers named are, all the rest of her grandchildren. The Baca family has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
