Leonard Coriz

Leonard A. Coriz, 60 resident of Chimayo NM, died on Wednesday August 25,2021 Leonardo is preceded in death by Father Conrad J. Coriz, Brother Larry Coriz and Paul Ruiz, Uncle Tony Ruiz and Ray C. Martinez. Leonardo was Chimayo finest auto mechanic and welder. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, hauling wood and planting his garden of chili. Leonardo passion also consisted of restoring older vehicles and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Leonardo is survived by Mother Josephine R. Coriz of Chimayo, Daughter Shyanne N. Coriz of Espanola, Brothers Matthew Coriz (sandy)of Los Lucero, Mark Coriz of Chimayo, James Coriz (Layla)of Chimayo. Nieces and Nephews Michelle (Lawrence) vigil, Janelle Coriz, Charlene Coriz (Fred), Mark Coriz Jr., April Coriz (Antonio), Merissa Coriz, Jacob Ruiz, Joseph Ruiz, Daniella Ruiz, Paul Delbert Ruiz. Mother of Daughter Geraldine Trujillo, Maternal Aunts Melinda Methrin, Isabelle Herrera, Susie Ruiz. Close friends Dennis (Chicago) Chavez, Close Cousin Anthony Ruiz Jr.

Public visitation will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 9:00 a.m.  in the Sangre de Cristo Chape of DeVargas Funeral Home, with a devotional service to follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held at the Light House Cemetery in Chimayo. Serving that Family of Leonardo as Pallbearers is Joseph Bustos, Joe Max Martinez, Ramos Archuleta, Wilfred Ortega, Marcos Padilla, and Albert Nier. Honorary Pallbearers is Mark Coriz, Matthew Coriz, James Coriz, Dennis Chaves, Michael Sherwood, Anthony Ruiz, Rodney Herrera, Billy Vigil, and Juan Ortiz.
