Lawrence Trujillo

d. March 18, 2022

Dear Family and Friends,

My daddy, Lawrence David Trujillo, better known as “Larry,” was called to his forever home in paradise with our Heavenly Father on March 18th, 2022. My dad answered his final mortal call peacefully and was filled with joy in our home. When my dad arrived at his eternal home, he was welcomed by his son Ike Trujillo, father Enrique Trujillo, sister Catherine Trujillo, and many loved ones before him.

Many will say that my daddy answered this call when he was too young at 64, but I know he lived each of his days to the fullest. He retired from the 1st Judicial District Attorney’s Office after devoting 27 years of his life to helping people overcome their mistakes; this depends on whom you ask, however. My dad was also well-known as a firefighter, CIA agent, rocket scientist, superhero, and professional bull wrangler. You know how much my dad loved telling his stories. My dad also loved telling jokes and making people laugh; he was a great friend to everyone he met. He loved fishing, camping, music, playing his sax and guitar, landscaping, karaoke, dancing, cooking, and spending time with his loved ones and friends. My daddy’s grandchildren meant the world to him, and he spent his time with them or sharing stories about them.

While my dad is celebrating in paradise, he has left behind many people who love him, like his son-in-law Joseph “Shady” Rodriguez and his six grandchildren, James, Joseph Jr., Trinity, Serenity, Jacob, and Shadyn; his step-son Joseph Leyba; his ex-wife and lifelong companion Patricia Trujillo; his mother Carmen Trujillo; his brothers Phillip (Annie) Trujillo and Michael (Jane) Trujillo; his nieces and nephews; and many relatives and friends. He also left me, his daughter, Felicia Rodriguez, behind, but I know he is still with me, so he didn’t leave me too far behind. It feels like when we would race each other down the street, he was too fast for me but would eventually allow me to catch up and be close to him. I know he is still allowing me to be close to him.

I want to give each of my daddy’s loved ones the ability to celebrate his life with a ceremony held at 410 Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87505 (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center), April 29th at 11 am. Our family also invites you to enjoy a meal and share memories of my dad immediately following his ceremony in the same building.

Serving as Pallbearers will be James Lorenzo Valdez, Joseph Leyba, Michael Trujillo Sr., Phillip Trujillo, Ernest Leyba, Angelo Trujillo, Keith Trujillo, and Michael Trujillo Jr.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Jacob Rodriguez, Francisco Lopez, and David Romero.

I am eternally grateful that I was born to a loving, caring, and amazing daddy named Lawrence David Trujillo, my papa Larry. I ask you all to live your lives to the fullest and Love One Another.

With Love and Gratitude,

Felicia Rodriguez
