Lencho Sanchez, 42, left his earthly body on August 24, 2025, in Chama, New Mexico.
A son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, Lencho was born on September 25, 1982, in Los Alamos, NM, and raised in Chama, New Mexico. He attended Chama Valley Schools and later completed a Plumbing Program at New Mexico Job Corps. He also excelled at a Spanish Colonial Woodworking class at Northern New Mexico Community College in El Rito, NM.
Lencho won awards for some of his woodworking creations. A left-handed man who had so much talent and was meticulous in any project he took on.
Lencho was the youngest brother, but he lived a huge life, sometimes his older siblings asked him for advice and perspective, too.
Lencho was preceded in death by his oldest brother Jerome Baldonado and father Fred 'Keko' Sanchez; Tio Manuel Baldonado, Aunt Connie Ross, grandparents Jesus and Antonita (Maestas) Baldonado, grandma Josephine Salazar, Tia Asucenca Valdez, and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Lencho is survived by his mother Maria Piedad Sanchez; sister Jessica (Donald) Rich, brothers Antonio (Kelly) and Franky Sanchez, Lenny and Freddy Sanchez; aunt Judy Baldonado and family; nephews and nieces Zachary Rich, Jose Sanchez, Malacai and Johnny Salazar, McKinzie, Madison, Alexandria, and Ethan Limback-Sanchez and Jerome Sanchez, Maurissa, Yvonna Sanchez; many family and friends.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11:00 am, at The Chama Community Church with Burial to follow at the Chama Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Franky, Antonio, and Jose Sanchez, Malacai Salazar, Jesse Moya, Chad King, and Joshua Talamante.
Honorary Pallbearers McKinzie, Madison, Alexandria, and Ethan Limback-Sanchez and Jerome Sanchez.
