LaVerne Medina

LAVERNE Y. MEDINA, 48, a resident of Dixon, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Juan de Dios and Petrita Lopez; paternal grandparents, Benedicto and Alcarita Valdez. LaVerne taught catechism at the St. Anthony’s Parish in Dixon. She was currently involved in many activities at the Dixon Elementary where she was employed for the last 20 years and made many friends there. She was previously employed at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, and the marketing department at Cities of Gold Casino. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Mrs. Medina is survived by her loving husband, Clarence Medina; children, Jason and Katie Medina; parents, John and Carolyn Valdez; close uncles, Juan Eloy Lopez and wife Loyola, Ivan Valdez and wife Mendy, Albert Valdez and Leroy Valdez and wife Georgia; aunts and uncles, Elsie and Rufino Cordova, Ivan and Mindy Valdez, Leroy and Georgia Valdez, Orlinda and Andrew Trujillo, Oralia and Roger Martinez, John E. and Loyola Lopez, Santiago Lopez, Gilbert and Shirley Lopez, Oralia and Reynaldo Vigil, Orlinda Salazar, Rosie Chacon; mother-in-law, Josie Medina; brother-in-law, Freddie Medina and sister-in-law, Michelle Medina and other relatives and friends. Due to the circumstances of COVID-19, private services will be held. Serving the family as pallbearers will be, Jason Medina, Juan Lopez, Juan Lopez, Jr., Louie Chacon, Freddy Medina and Johnny Chacon. The family of LaVerne Y.
