Larry Dominguez, age 70, a resident Chimayo, NM, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026, following a diagnosis of liver cancer on May 11, 2026, He was born in Jan Manuel, Arizona on May 6, 1956.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nestor and Cipia Dominguez; brothers Jimmy and Waler; and sister Consuelo.
He is survived by his sister Gloria (Lupe) Garcia of Arroyo Seco, brother Louie of Denver, Bernice (Rosendo) Ortiz of San Manuel, AZ., sister Esther (Luis) Moralez of San Antonio, TX, and sister-in-law Monce Dominguez of San Manuel, AZ.
After graduation from high school, he left Arizona and settled in Grant, NM, where he started working in the mines. He also did construction work in Albuquerque. Many times when traveling through Albuquerque with Gloria and Lupe, He would point out buildings where he had worked.
He had many nieces and nephews who he enjoyed being around and loved dearly. If he had money in his pockets, he generously gave them a whatever cash he had or he would buy them goodies.
Larry was very good about calling his brothers and sisters every morning and evening. to let them know he was doing fine and give updates on what he was up to.
After his parents both passed, he spent much time with Gloria and Lupe. Lupe took him fishing, hunting, riding in the mountains of Truchas and Pecos. When Lupe started some construction in Pecos, he wanted to be there helping out. He would say, "it's a beautiful place."
A Public Visitation will take place in the Sangre de Cristo of DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM on Saturday July 18, 2026 at 10:30 am, with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Los Llanitos Cemetery after the Memorial Service.
Larry will be missed by his family and friends.
