Karen Martinez

Karen Martinez, 73, was welcomed by her Heavenly Father in Heaven on November 17, 2022. Karen was born on December 9,1948, in Las Tablas to Celestino and Candelaria Sisneros. She moved to La Mesilla later in life where she currently resided.

Karen is preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Martinez, Parents: Celestino & Cadelaria Sisneros, Brothers: Eppie, Faustino and Herman Sisneros, Sister; Bertha Gasca, and niece Celeste Sisneros, Yvonne Gasca, and nephew Miguel Gasca.

Karen is survived by her siblings; Johnny Sisneros (Ruby), and Danny Sisneros, nephew: Jimmy, nieces: Lisa, Nicole, Brooke, and Alice. All who will cherish all the memories and love she shared with us for her time here on earth.

Karen worked for NM State for 25yrs and enjoyed life after retirement. She loved doing ceramics, spending time with her family and friends, going to the casino, and playing with her puppies. She be greatly missed by all those who knew the kindhearted generous person she was.

Pallbearers are Danny Sisneros, Jimmy Sisneros, Cruz Espinosa, and Jesus Gasca.

Public Visitation will begin at 5:30 pm with a Rosary to follow at 6:00 pm on Wednesday December 7, 2022 at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory in Espanola, NM.  Memorial Mass will take place on Friday December 9, 2022 at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz with burial to follow at the Las Tablas Cemetery.
